I started as an Academic Success Coach after over 15 years as a high school and university instructor because I saw gaping holes in support services available to students. At both the high school and university level, institutions are understaffed and resources are simply not available at a level that will produce changes in students. I co-create a path with students at any level based on individual challenges, strengths, and goals. Then I walk beside you on that journey until you are ready to fly on your own! 

My journey in mental health wellness began largely due to the widely used advice upon receiving a mental health diagnosis not working for me. Most people are told: take your medication, go to therapy, and find a support group. This told me nothing about how to live on a daily basis and function within society after so many years of living with a brain that was working against me every day. Having a well functioning brain was fantastic, but I didn't know how to properly use said brain. 

I began to read research articles in peer-reviewed journals by neuroscientists, psychologists, psychiatrists, and therapists. Over the years, I have read 1000s of pages, been to countless trainings and seminars, and following, implemented what I've learned in my own life.
Over 10 years ago, I began implementing the tools and strategies I’d discovered with individual clients. With over 20 years of experience as an educator, being a coach comes naturally to me and is truly my passion. Because of my vast experience as a high school and university instructor, I am able to build rapport and trust with college students easily. This population seems to be my calling and I love it!
